In order to begin using ALTS, each designated agent must migrate their ETAPS account to the new ALTS environment. Note: Migration is not necessary if you are a licensing office employee or a Department of Revenue (DOR) employee. If you need assistance, please contact the Motor Vehicles Division at (334) 242-9000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
You will go to: https://mvtrip.alabama.gov in order to migrate your ETAPS account and begin using ALTS. Click on “ETAPS Migration” icon.
You will receive the following screen. Please type in your existing ETAPS username and password.
The system will validate your account against ETAPS. You will be prompted to provide your first and last name, email address and new password. You may also change your username at this point if desired.
If you are an administrator of your organization in ETAPS and another administrator has not already migrated your organization, you will also be asked to verify your bank account and trusted party information. If available, this information will be migrated from ETAPS for you to verify.
After providing all the requisite information, please click on the “Migrate Account” button at the bottom of the screen.
You will receive the following success message letting you know that your account has been successfully migrated. You will then be redirected to ALTS for you to login with your new credentials.
If there are any issues with the migration process, you will receive one of the following messages. Please contact the Department of Revenue at email@example.com for resolution or call (334) 242-9000.
If you are a licensing office employee or DOR employee, you will receive the following message if attempting to migrate your ETAPS account.
You are now ready to begin using ALTS.
Any applications started in ETAPS must be completed in ETAPS.
When your designated agent account is migrated to ALTS, you can no longer use ETAPS to start a new application.
Licensing officials’ registration system interfaces will continue to work with ALTS. If you have any issues, please contact your system vendor.
Dealer management systems will continue to work with ALTS. Please contact your system vendor if you have any issues.
